Learn applications for communications and writing.

Session 2: Chatbots and writing

Learn how to prompt engineer and edit what you get back from ChatGPT in this presentation. Includes audience Q&A.

Wrap-up

Overview of project-based assignment for participants to work on during Week 1.

Assignment

Experiment with the generative AI tools covered in the session. Conceive of three use cases within your role or team. Test the tools on those use cases. Post any questions to the discussion forum in the online classroom.

Identify a specific challenge or inefficiency in your current workflow or team processes that could be improved with AI tools. Using the tools introduced during the session, explore how they could address the challenge.

Week 3: Ethical Considerations

February 25, 2025 | 11 a.m.–12:30 p.m. EST

Session 1: Investigative reporting and ethics in AI

Presentation of AP’s “Tracked” series: An Associated Press investigative series spurred real-world impact by revealing how governments across the globe mobilized mass surveillance and predictive tools in our communities, amid a year of pandemic and protests.

Session 2: How to define ethics in AI for your organization

While AI has the potential to streamline aspects of work across industries, human oversight is essential to addressing potential ethical challenges. Some ethical considerations include misinformation, disinformation, bias, lack of transparency, privacy issues, information security and negative social consequences. In this session, you’ll learn how to identify, assess and address ethical challenges arising from AI implementation.

We’ll cover how to:

  • Integrate AI in various workplace scenarios, such as customer service, content creation, data analysis, and other tasks, while mitigating potential ethical implications.

  • Communicate the use of AI within organizations and to stakeholders to maintain trust and prevent misunderstandings.

  • Use industry-specific codes of ethics and other resources to guide ethical decision-making processes and behavior for AI-driven practices across different professions.
