Freelance L&D Curriculum Writer

Overview:

Edmaker.co, a NY-based education company that’s been in operation since 2014, is looking for a project-based freelance writer to assist with learning and development projects for our online learning program that serves adult professionals. Topic areas include technology, culture, sustainability, leadership, management, and other disparate topics. Knowledge of the AP Style is a plus. This is a work-from-home freelance position, perfect for someone with a flexible schedule. It requires some availability during standard work hours (9-5 ET), but many projects can be done outside of those hours. Time commitment would be approximately 10-15 hours per month, with potential to increase. Hourly rate: $30-35, based on experience.

We are looking for a creative writer with a journalist’s ability to ask the right questions to immerse themselves in new topic areas.

Tasks include:

  • Curriculum development projects: researching, writing, and content development to create course outlines, presentation copy, video scripts, group exercise prompts, and lessons on various topics

  • Other assorted content projects: these could include writing course descriptions, developing quizzes based on course content, and other writing and research projects

  • Content review projects: editing, copyediting, and proofreading course content for style, usability, and consistency

  • Grammar and style

  • Management and leadership training

  • Technology and culture
